Rogue River fishing trips.
Rogue River Chinook salmon fishing.

Occasionally, you just can't miss. I would rather be lucky then good someone else once said. This angler was real lucky. His first drift through the hole at Taylor Creek produced this 41 pound Chinook Salmon after a 45 minute fight on a 9 1/2 foot noodle rod built by Rogue Rods. He definitely felt the bite.

Summer run steelhead are abundant in the Fall and it isn't unusual to catch steelhead up to 12 pounds. This is a great 10 pound native run steelhead trout, fresh from the ocean and what a fight. After numerous jumps and runs in which it streaked line out at a furious speed it succumbed to Thomas Worthen and after a few quick pictures went back to the river to produce progeny for later years.

Coho salmon begin entering the Lower Rogue River Canyon in October, river levels and rain permitting. As you can see they are beautiful and what fighters they are. This one weighs about 12 pounds.

We cater to group fishing trips, corporate fishing trips, families and couples who want to experience a wilderness fishing adventure. This is a perfect trip to reward exceptional employees and clients for sales or meeting tough deadlines. Use it as a means to bond family or employees. The lodges serve as a great place for meetings. Many of our clients re book for the next year as soon as they get off their trip.

From beginner to experienced angler, we teach you the best, most successful methods of catching Chinook salmon, Coho salmon and steelhead trout. Methods we use are:

  1. Backtrolling plugs like Kwikfish, Wee Warts and Rebel Crawdads.
  2. Twitching flies with fly rods using the Rogue River 'twitch'.
  3. Boondoggling (back dragging) spinners or casting spinners.
  4. Rolling bait with noodle rods, 9 1/2 foot fly rods converted to spinning rods.
