We strongly encourage you to purchase trip cancellation insurance soon after registering for a trip.
Just a note on guide gratuities: A gratuity (tip) is a tradition in the fishing world. "A good guide gets a bump at the end of a good day fishing". The guidelines for the "bump" is between 15 to 20 percent or more per day. Remember a gratuity is for good service, not piles of fish.
So what should you tip your guide? Most half day fishing trips tip anywhere from $40.00 to $75.00 with $100.00 being offered if you think your guide did an exceptional job. Full day wade trips generally tip $60.00 to $100.00 with $150.00 for an exceptional job. Float trips require much more preparation, work and expense for a guide. Therefore, the tips are generally higher. The average tip range for a float fishing trip is from $80.00 to $125.00 with $150.00 and higher being an exceptional tip. Remember these tips are per guide not per person. Each angler in one boat would pay 50% of the daily tip.
