Hellgate Canyon Rogue River Oregon Arrowhead River Adventures
Provided on all
whitewater trips

Nestled in the steep tree-covered hillsides north of Grants Pass, this trip launches on the Rogue River as it winds through the stunning scenery of Hellgate Canyon in the Recreation Section of the river. Your guide will train you on basic paddling and river lingo before you splash through a variety of water along the river - calm pools, small riffles, and class I-III whitewater. There are ample opportunities to swim, enjoy the scenery, and have fun in splashy whitewater. This trip is just what you need on a hot summer day. Getting there

We'll meet at Hog Creek boat ramp near the town of Merlin. You'll park at Hog Creek and we'll shuttle you back to your vehicle at the end of the float. Check the weather and bring clothing that can get wet and dry quickly: board shorts/swim trunks, rash guards/athletic t's, sun hat, fleece jacket (for cool weather), and sandals or tennis shoes. We will provide a dry bag for layers and cell phone/wallet/keys. If the weather is chilly we'll also provide splash tops. Don't forget sun protection and water bottles.

Some people don't have cell phone service at Hog Creek, so if you're running late just send us a text before you leave town.

This trip operates on the traditional territory of the ancestral lands of the Cow Creek Umpqua, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Tolowa Dee-ni’, and Takelma.
